Introduction
English 8th Edition Stone Rain Foil -- John Matson

If you're a fan of Magic: the Gathering, then you already know what Stone Rain is -- one of the oldest land destruction spells. It has been with us since the Alpha set, and unlike Sinkhole, was well balanced enough to survive the culling that happened during the creation of the Revised set.

What you may not know is that Stone Rain is the most reprinted MTG nonland card ever. Yup, when you take different sets, languages, foils, and specialty printings into account, there are more different printings of Stone Rain than there are of any other nonland card.  I can only thank 8'th Edition for that. Before 8'th Edition, Stone Rain was the second-most reprinted card, the first being Disenchant... but not anymore!!!

Once I realized that at printings, Stone Rain was the most reprinted card, I thought it would be fun to try and collect the "Global Stone Rain Set". Which is to say, one copy of each and every printing of Stone Rain, in each and every language. Hence The Stone Rain Project was born.

This website tracks my progress, shows pictures of the cards, and shows where all the cards in my set came from all over the world. Along the way I've met a lot of interesting people and learned a number of weird Stone Rain factoids so that information will be included here as well.  Use the links at left to navigate this site and peruse the project blog.
